Stewartia x henryae 'Skyrocket' Hybrid Stewartia

‘Skyrocket’ is a unique individual of a Stewartia that was found at the Polly Hill Arboretum as a hybrid between Stewartia pseudocamellia and Stewartia monadelpha. It has gorgeous camellia-like 1.5 inch flowers that are white. Mature specimens flower prolifically. In 10 years, ‘Skyrocket’ may reach 12 ft in height. The overall shape is fairly narrow. The fall color of the foliage is a rich shade of red. After the leaves drop, the bark steals the show with an excellent winter interest. The glossy smooth bark is a mosaic of cinnamon, cream, light brown. This is a tree you should definitely grow in your garden.
