Pinus parviflora 'Meiko'
Rare Dwarf White Pine Tree

Zones 5-8

'Meiko' is a rare, high-character dwarf Japanese White Pine that stands out for its incredibly dense habit and brilliant color. This cultivar features short, stiff needles in a striking blue-green with intense silvery-white undersides, creating a shimmering, two-tone effect in the garden. The needles are held in tight, brush-like tufts that give the tree a refined, "manicured" look without the need for constant pruning.

Unlike more irregular cultivars, 'Meiko' typically maintains a tidy, globose to broadly rounded form in its youth. It is an exceptionally slow grower, putting on only 1–3 inches of new growth per year and about 5 by 5 feet in 10 years, which makes it a "gold standard" selection for conifer gardens. As it matures, it develops the rugged, platy gray bark and tiered branching that define the classic Japanese aesthetic. It also has the delightful habit of producing small, ornamental cones at a very young age.

This "must-have" conifer is perfect for anyone looking to add a sculptural focal point to a rock garden or container. Because of its natural dwarfism and small needle size, 'Meiko' is also one of the most highly prized selections for bonsai training.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have lots cultivars of conifers, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the conifers you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
