Exceptional Fall Color Fascination Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

'Fascination' is a fascinating selection of Japanese maple with deeply divided chartreuse green leaves. 'Fascination' is a vigorous upright reaching 12-15 ft in 10 years. In autumn, 'Fascination' puts on a fascinating display of fall color that includes bright orange and crimson red. 'Fascination' was found and introduced by Dr. Frank Mossman.

Fascination has deeply divided, lovely leaves. When new growth appears in summer, which is always, they are a bright peach/pink. This tree is a faster grower than most, i have had mine for 14 months, planted immediately in the ground in 8 to 9 hours of sun, hot and humid zone 7b. Started out about a foot tall and is now about 4 feet and sturdy. I have a shade i used for it last summer as the new growth started to get scorched, but this year so far, mid summer, no shade needed. A lovely green color on the older growth, very durable, pretty tough now that it has established. Its stucture is slightly spreading but i am finding it is easily trained. Lots of visual detail. The tree that started my obsession with JM's. Love it!
