‘Kinshi' is an excellent small tree with green thread-like foliage. The name translates as "with golden threads" which describes the excellent yellow to orange fall color that this small upright tree turns to in the fall. 'Kinshi' may reach 6-8 ft in 10 years.

Purchased a 1 gallon dormant Kinshi in 2023 and sighted it in part sun under a 40 foot poplar tree. The soil wasn’t the greatest. Compacted clay that I amended with pine bark soil conditioner. Tree doubled in size and the fall color is really special. Planted above grade, mulched and didn’t require much water even in our long blazing hot summer drought. I’m impressed.
