Acer palmatum ‘Tsuma Type’ is an upright, deciduous Japanese maple with a graceful, medium-sized canopy. In spring, the light green leaves emerge tipped with deep purple-red along the lobes, creating a striking contrast. As summer progresses, the foliage softens to green before turning brilliant yellow in autumn. Best grown in morning sun with afternoon shade and well-drained soil. A slow to moderate grower, reaching about 8 ft tall and 4 ft wide in 10 years.
