Acer palmatum ‘Versicolor’ is a broadleaf Japanese maple with soft green foliage often highlighted by creamy variegation, giving it a delicate, refined texture in the landscape. In 10 years, it typically reaches about 8–10 feet tall and 6–8 feet wide, developing a graceful, upright habit. Fall color is especially showy, with rich orange hues adding vibrant seasonal interest. This is the tree featured on the cover of the 1st and 2nd editions of Japanese Maples by J. D. Vertrees, making it a very rare and highly collectible selection.
