'Pewter' is an excellent new selection of Japanese stewartia that has all the characteristics that you love about Stewartia pseudocamellia, but also has a silver-blue sheen to the leaf. Yes! Stewartia pseudocamellia 'Pewter' has "pewter" colored foliage. The camellia-like blooms are white in late spring to early summer. 'Pewter' has a bright fiery orange-red fall color & great winter interest bark on mature plants. The bark will have grey, cinnamon color, and tan throughout the trunk and branching that provides great year-round interest. 'Pewter' is by far one of my favorite Japanese stewartia selections. 'Pewter' may reach 12-14 ft in 15 years.
