Ribbon leaf, thread leaf, strap leaf, bamboo Linearilobum, etc… call it what you want, but I call it Art leaf. I received my 3ft tree in perfect condition with an established leader. The colors are very interesting and unique no matter where you put it. So you can buy several, put them all in different places around your property, and they’ll all look different from the others. Each one looking better in its own way than the last. Sun for purple to reds to greens. part shade for deeper purples, maroons and reds, and who knows what they do in a mostly shaded spot. It can get more sun tolerant with age with you want it in full sun, but some extra attention may be required. Moderate grower for me. Not too slow…not too fast. Right in the middle. Dainty, Sensible, and pleasant structure and texture, just like its colors. Even the summer greens are still more interesting and pleasing than most others for some reason. Hard to articulate the color and texture other than “real pretty.” Very nice upright with a unique feel.
