Acer palmatum ‘Red Flash’ is a striking Italian introduction prized for its exceptionally vivid spring color. New growth emerges an intensely bright red in early spring, then matures to a rich, deep maroon as summer progresses. In fall, the foliage ignites again, turning a brilliant fire-engine red. This upright Japanese maple is expected to reach approximately 10 feet tall in 10 years, making it an excellent choice as a colorful focal point in the landscape. Still relatively new to the American market, ‘Red Flash’ shows tremendous promise.
