Acer sieboldianum 'Kumoi nishiki' is a stable variegated full moon Japanese maple. In the spring, the leaves pop out with white variegation that is extraordinary. The white sand dust variegation pops over the light green to dark green leaves. Fall color can range from yellow to orange. When I was in Japan in 2015, Kobayashi Momiji En was growing this plant and brought it out to show me in a small pot that was covered in moss. They had it under the name 'Asagi nishiki' which they agreed was the same as 'Kumoi nishiki'. 'Kumoi nishiki' is extremely cold tolerant and typically has a nice mature form reaching 8-10 ft in 15 years. I do recommend protection from the hot afternoon sun for this beauty to get established and thrive for you in your garden.
