Acer olivaceum

Rare Chinese Olive Maple Tree

Zones 7-9

Extremely rare to cultivation, here is Acer olivaceum, also known as the olive maple. Not to be confused with Acer oliverianum, Acer olivaceum leafs out in the early spring as a bright chartreuse, later turning a olive green where it gets its name. In the autumn, this maple may even be more dynamic than most of its Japanese relatives. During the fall, Acer olivaceum demands attention with malted shades of yellow, apricot, orange, and red.

Grafted onto Acer palmatum understock, this species should attain a height of 12-15 feet. This Chinese maple is native to the provinces of Zhejiang, Southern Anhui, and Eastern Jiangxi. Acer olivaceum is located within Section Palmata and is an extremely close relative to your typical Japanese maple. Like it's relatives Acer olivaceum is hardy, yet elegantly beautiful making a wonderful addition to your yard.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
