'Purple Crunch' is a unique upright Japanese maple with twisting foliage similar to 'Angel The Prince'. The color patterns are similar to 'Kuro hime'. New growth is a purple red in the early spring, maturing to a dark blue green by early summer. New growth in the summer is more purple in color. Fall color on 'Purple Crunch' is a bright fiery red. We expect this newer cultivar to reach 5-6 ft in height in 10 years. This strong, upright stature is sure to be a great addition to any outdoor landscape, with its vibrant color and growth patterns season-to-season.
