Acer palmatum 'Ruby Ridge'

Ruby Ridge Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

‘Ruby Ridge' leafs out in the early spring as a bright red turning to a deep chocolate by late spring. The leaf is quite different from most Japanese maples as it's very thick. It also has very thick branching making one wonder if it's a tetraploid. Because of this thick leaf, it often has very consistent fall color of cherry red. It reaches a height of 12-15 ft in 20 years. It is believed to be also known by the name 'Crumple Leaf'.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

Promises Kept

Found the description and photos of this cultivar to be intriguing. Ordered a copy last winter, and received a most-satisfactory 1 gallon tree. Over the past year's growing season, 'Ruby Ridge' displayed her proclaimed traits to be "spot-on", thick & stubby branches, bright red, spring-leaves becoming very heavily textured, and its fall color attained a glorious orange-yellow before the weather interrupted the show. This cultivar really delivered on everything it's description promised!

If you too, thought MrMaple's cultivar write-up and photos for this tree to be interesting, buy one, it won't disappoint! I give it three licks!!!
