Acer palmatum 'Shigi no hoshi'
Rare Japanese Maple Tree

Zones 5-9

'Shigi no hoshi' leafs out in the spring with white reticulated variegation and dark green veins. The leaves are 'Shigi no hoshi' are fairly serrated on the edges, especially on mature growth. In autumn, 'Shigi no hoshi' turns to a bright yellow. This gives 'Shigi no hoshi' quite a different look than other reticulated types. 'Shigi no hoshi' is perhaps one of the smallest selections of reticulated variegated uprights. After 10 years, 'Shigi no hoshi' may reach 4-5 ft in height and width. It was found and introduced by Yutaka Tanaka at Tsukasa Maple in Japan.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

It just pops!

I’m growing this tree in zone 10A and where most of my variegated trees fade out during the summer this one just holds that spring color right through the second flush. If variegated/ reticulated trees are your thing don’t sleep on this one.
