'Green Snowflake' is a new cascading full moon maple with deeply divided leaves. This slow growing dwarf laceleaf has elegantly cut foliage with a weeping habit that may reach 3-4 ft in height by 4-5 ft in width in 10 years. Give 'Green Snowflake' protection from the hot afternoon sun.

Tired of waiting for a ‘Must Have” JM to show up on a New 10 @ 10 Listing, then make a habit of checking out the Limited Availability Sale listings (new trees added, every hour on the hour, from 9AM to 9PM). Often these are 1 or 2 of individual JM cultivars that may have turn up in reorganizing a greenhouse.
By constantly prowling about the Limited Availability Sale list, the guy I live with, has succeeded in acquiring, numerous JM’s ( that were on our ‘Must Have” List) and Acer shirasawanum ‘ Green Snowflake, was one, of our most recent score’s. It was one of eight, 1-gallon Acers that arrived this week in a medium shipping box, 2 of which were 1 gallon-XL’s!
Arriving the day before Valentines Day, all of the trees were still, fully dormant. Good thing too, as the temperature here that morning was 13 degrees F!
The packaging professionals, at MrMaple are wizards at their craft. All 8 trees were so superbly-tucked into that 1 box, that not one of the slightest twig was broken on any tree, pure magic! The cold temperatures these trees were exposed to ( en-route to us ), had temporarily bent a couple of branches, into their short-term, “tucked-in” positions, however a little hand-working (come spring) will remedy that.
The guy I live with says that, ever since he first viewed the pictures of A.s. ‘Green Snowflake’ with its intricately divided leaves (while searching thru "The MrMaple Files”) it was a "Must Have” tree.
Once the buds start to swell in several more weeks, it will be un-potted, the rootball “opened-up” and root-pruned (if need be) and then repotted into a decorative ceramic pot, where it can be trialed in various sites in the garden, until its Happy Spot is found!
Completely delighted, to add this miniature gem, to our collection. Another super-satisfying experience, and so very grateful to everyone in the MrMaple team for making it so!
