'Magic Moon' is a full moon Japanese maple that is green in the spring, then develops a yellow to orange variegation on the older growth. Acer shirasawanum ‘Magic Moon' was a chance seedling found by Del Louck's grandson. We traded him quite a bit of other Japanese maples to get the original 'Magic Moon'. After 8 years, 'Magic Moon' has continued to display these same characteristics of variegation that it was selected for. 'Magic Moon' turns to oranges to reds in the fall. In 10 years, 'Magic Moon' may reach 8ft.
