'Patrick Thompson' is an Earl Sommerville Selection named after azalea expert Patrick Thompson. This rare native is a hybrid between Rhododendron canescens and Rhododendron prunifolium. The deep pink blooms have an orange-yellow blotch. 'Patrick Thompson' is expected to reach 6 ft in height by 4 ft in width in 10 years. Make sure to give 'Patrick Thompson' good drainage and plenty of organic matter when planting.
