‘Rising Sun’ is a deciduous azalea with a beautiful golden yellow truss of flowers that will compliment any landscape and garden. ‘Rising Sun’ azalea from the Earl Sommerville series prefers partial shade and does best in zones 6-9. This heat tolerant plant produces a pleasant fragrance from its bloom during late March to April. ‘Rising Sun’ can reach a height of 4-6 ft and spread roughly 4 ft in width in 10 years. Introduced by Earl Sommerville, ‘Rising Sun’ originated as a collection from a wild form of R. austrinum.
