Pinus strobus 'Biltmore Blue'
Rare Dwarf Biltmore Blue White Pine Tree

Zones 3-8

Pinus strobus 'Biltmore Blue’ was found as a dwarf mutation that happened high up on a white pine on the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. A local marksman was called to shoot the mutation out of the tree with a gun. Then a local nursery grafted the branches from this mutation. The result became a great dwarf white pine with a great blue color.

‘Biltmore Blue’ makes a dense small tree reaching 3-4 ft in height and width in 10 years. The blue color adds quite a bit to this small evergreen conifer. ‘Biltmore Blue’ is great for small places in the garden, containers, conifer beds, fairy gardens, and railroad gardens.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have lots cultivars of conifers, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the conifers you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

Charming addition to the terrace garden

Having these small blue evergreens around my terrace gives me privacy without claustrophobia. They look great all year so the garden looks good when flowering plants hibernate. I expect to plant more of these charmers.
