Edgeworthia papyrifera 'Akebono' has one of the largest blooms and one of the largest flowers. This selection by our friend, Tony Avent, stands out from other Chinese paperbush and is said to be more cold hardy. 'Akebono' may reach 8 ft by 8 ft in 10 years. The large yellow and white blooms put on a display in late winter. Typically, for us, this is late February to early March.
