'Aka hosada' is a fairy rare selection of linearilobum Japanese maple. The spring cherry red foliage are long strap leaves that add a lot of spring color. These leaves turn to a dark red during the summer. Fall color is a bright crimson red. Blowing in the wind, this foliage has an open and airy feel like bamboo. 'Aka hosada' may reach 10-12 ft in height in 10 years. This unique ornamental tree is perfect for providing a focal point in the landscape. The slow-growing nature of 'Aka hosada' makes it low maintenance, and it's well-suited for small garden spaces.
