St. Bernadette is a remarkable dwarf Japanese maple discovered by our good friend Bob McCaffrey. This unique selection originated as a rare mutation, often referred to as a "witches' broom," but Bob considers it a "blessing" or a "gift from God." This is the first time ever offered!

With a dense, compact habit, St. Bernadette showcases beautiful brick-red foliage accented by striking green bark. Over 10 years, it reaches approximately 4 feet in height, making it an excellent choice for small gardens, containers, or as a standout specimen in any landscape.

Bob named this special cultivar in honor of St. Bernadette, the patron saint of bodily illness, Lourdes, those suffering from poverty, shepherds and shepherdesses, and individuals ridiculed for their faith. This deeply meaningful maple is not just a beautiful addition to the garden but also a symbol of strength, faith, and resilience.
