'Earl's Angel' is a such a spectacular selection of native azalea. The bloom itself is white with raspberry highlights and a yellow blotch. As the bloom ages, the bloom becomes more white. 'Earl's Angel' was found at Lake Allatoona by Earl Sommerville as a natural hybrid of Rhododendron flammeum and Rhododendron periclymenoides. 'Earl's Angel' may reach 5 ft in height by 4 ft in width in 10 years. Make sure to give 'Earl's Angel' good drainage and plenty of organic matter when planting. ‘Earl’s Angel’ has also been known under the name ‘Earth Angel’.
