Acer palmatum 'Baby Lace Lexington'
Laceleaf Japanese Maple
Zones 5-9
In the spring, 'Baby Lace Lexington' leafs out with a bright orange-red dissected leaves that mature to a bronze green-red. Fall color can range from a bright yellow to orange to red. 'Baby Lace Lexington' is a fairly vigorous growing weeping selection. Of types of Japanese maples that fall in the "Ornatum-like" category, this is the largest and fastest growing type reaching around 6 ft in height by 8 ft in width in 10 years.
'Baby Lace Lexington' is an extremely rare selection of Japanese maple that was introduced by Dr. Robert Munger of Boxerwood Arboretum in Lexington, VA. Originally this tree was named 'Baby Lace', but "Lexington" was added to the name of this Japanese maple to differentiate from a duplicate tree in the nursery trade by that name. 'Baby Lace Lexington' is much larger growing and less finicky than 'Baby Lace' that is commonly sold in the nursery trade.
Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
