Acer palmatum 'Gold Digger'

Rare Gold Digger Yellow Coral Bark Japanese Maple

AREA 51 COLLECTION™ PLANTS THAT ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD

Zones 6-9

'Gold Digger' is a MrMaple introduction from the Area 51 Collection. 'Gold Digger' has great winter interest of light yellow towards the base of the tree with more orange toward the tips on the latest growth.

The leaves on the new growth are often a peach color that fades to the tips turning darker red. The leaf matures to a solid green. During the summer, the bark is a light yellow where this selection gets its name, 'Gold Digger'. Fall color on the leaves typically starts out with yellow and can mature to a bold red. We expect 'Gold Digger' to get to 8-10 ft in 15 years.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

Gold found !!!

Wow what a tree !!! It is so beautiful and Healthy !!! And as a 3 gallon, it is HUGE !!! As tall as me and I'm tall . I can't wait to see it in spring. Planting this in my backyard where I can see that yellow bark all winter. Also have a bihoux that is growing beautifully in the front yard, also from Mr. Maple. They never disappoint me !!!! I tell everyone about them !!!

It's a little early to tell, but this appears to be a nice looking Japanese maple. It shipped well in the summer months with little to no damage. I'm hoping it's a hearty variety. The tree shape is a little odd with a long branch shooting out more horizontally. I'll look at pruning it back some maybe in a year or so. Or possibly staking it more upright if possible
