Acer campbellii 'Boney Fingers' Rare Japanese Maple
Acer campbellii 'Boney Fingers'
Rare Japanese Maple
'Boney Fingers' is quite the special little tree. It is tight and dense like a 'Mikawa yatsubusa', but it is an Acer campbellii. The leaves are quite unique and elongated, resembling boney hands. The buds are larger than a typical Acer palmatum, giving a more boney appearance in the winter on this tightly layering dwarf. 'Boney Fingers' may reach 3-4 ft in height and width in 10 years. Spring color on the leaves may be a bronze purple, maturing to green. Fall color is a bright yellow.
