Acer circinatum 'Little Gem'
Dwarf Alleyne Cook Vine Maple Japanese Maple

Zones 6-9

Morning Sun to Afternoon Shade

'Little Gem' is a witches' broom on an Acer circinatum that was found by Alleyene Cook, head gardener of Stanley Park in Vancouver, B.C. Alleyene Cook was discussing this witches' broom with Harold Greer, who thought J.D. Vertrees may be interested in propagating this broom. Cook sent cuttings and eventually Vertrees named this selection 'Little Gem'. Others have known this dwarf selection as 'Alleyene Cook'. 'Little Gem' has small rounded green lobes and a tight dense habit reaching 3-4 ft in height and width in 10 years. 'Little Gem' turns to a bright golden yellow in the fall.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

love the size

I lost 2 pines in nearly 2 days from bag worms & love my maples so got these little gems to replace those spots. This was my 8th maple from you. I lost one & others all doing well. These little gems are off to a good start. Love watching them grow new little leaves. Still waiting for next arrival. Have name on list.
