'Taki-no-gawa' is a classic full moon Japanese maple that is not often found in the nursery trade. This large leafed Acer japonicum has an orange hue to its large new growth that mature out to large fan-like rounded green leaves. The habit of 'Taki-no-gawa' is upright with a broad crown reaching 10-12 ft in 20 years. The large leaves of 'Taki-no-gawa' give this Japanese maple a very tropical appearance. Fall color is a bright fiery red. Give 'Taki-no-gawa' protection from the hot afternoon sun for this maple to have the largest leaves possible.

Trees were potted from large liners to gallons in this spring and may not have completely filled out their pots.
