This is a Japanese maple for every baseball fan out there. 'Babe's Dwarf' is broom that was found by our good friend Bob McCaffrey near Babe Ruth's grave. Bob calls brooms blessings from God, which I totally agree with. By having this dwarf mutation happen on a plant, we can graft it and have a smaller and often more attractive version of the original Japanese maple. 'Babe's Dwarf' has smaller bright red leaves in the spring. During the summer, the green comes into the leaf, creating a multi-colored effect. Fall color is a bright red. We expect 'Babe's Dwarf' may reach 3-4 ft in height and width in 10 years. 

Trees were potted up to 1 gallons in the spring and may have completely filled out their pots.
