Acer palmatum 'Looking Glass Falls’
Rare Weeping Japanese Maple

AREA 51 COLLECTION™

PENDULOUS TREASURES COLLECTION™

Zones 5-9

In the springtime, 'Looking Glass Falls' puts on a show with a purple-red border on a bright green leaf. The habit is extremely cascading, giving the spring color effect of 'Murasaki kiyohime' while having the habit of 'Ryusen'.

'Looking Glass Falls' is a new selection of weeping Japanese maple from the Area 51 Collection™ at MrMaple that has recently also been added to the Pendulous Treasures Collection.  'Looking Glass Falls' was found by Matt and Tim as a chance seedling from the lineage of ‘Nakakamado Weeping'.

If staked up to 5-6 ft, 'Looking Glass Falls' may reach 5-6 ft in height by 4-5 ft in width in 10 years. If not staked, 'Looking Glass Falls' may make an intriguing ground cover or tree for a hanging basket. In the fall, 'Looking Glass Falls' turns to a bright red. 'Looking Glass Falls' is named after a popular waterfall in Western North Carolina.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

Wonderful specimen

Received both trees packaged beautifully and received them very fast. Had to wait 2 weeks before I potted them up in their pots. Both are doing wonderful so far. Lovely! Thank you for the fast delivery!

Gorgeous maples

Absolutely beautiful maple so well packed I actually had a hard time getting them out of the box. I bought eight and plan on buying more. The ones that I bought years ago were so amazing I planted them in pots and they ended up busting through the pots and rooting into the ground. The reason why they were in the pots is because I was renting and I wanted to take them with me. I was never able to get them out of the ground and they were about 8 ft tall. I still drive by the old house and they still look stunning. I'm looking forward to buying more. 100 out of 100 Stars

Looking glass looking great!

I bought this last August/Sept, put in a 12 gallon pot and a couple months later winter set in. Some days were in the negative temps, I wrapped her up but was still worried.

It's now April and this thing is alive and beautiful! I can't wait to get another tree from you guys!!

Topsy Turvey Planting Worked Great!

I ordered the smallest you had for sale: one gallon staked. It arrived in good shape but bigger than I had hoped (I know that is weird). My reason is I wanted to plant a small plant upside down in my wire hanging basket. Fortunately, the flexible limbs were able to weave in the bottom hole of the pot. If not, I would have staked it normally. I am looking forward to see how gravity “staking” works. I learned this technique from y’all’s videos. Thanks!
