‘Ueno yatsubusa’ is a more bushy Japanese maple with amazing spring color. In the spring, ‘Ueno yatsubusa’ displays bright orange leaves highlighted by yellow. ‘Ueno yatsubusa’ is more dense and compact than other types more upright types like ‘Ueno yama’. ‘Ueno yatsubusa’ displays more multi-branching with more lateral growth as well. This means this tree has a less dominant central leader which causes its more bushy habit. ‘Ueno yatsubusa’ may reach 5-6 ft in height and width in 10 years. Fall color on ‘Ueno yatsubusa’ can range from bright orange to red. ‘Ueno yatsubusa’ is fairly rare in the nursery trade.
