Acer shirasawanum 'Season's of Change'

Seasons of Change

Full Moon Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

'Seasons of Change' is a brand new shirasawanum selection on the market by our good friend Crispin Silva. Our 'Seasons of Change' were grafted directly from the original tree. It leafs out in the early spring with large rounded and heavily divided leaves that are a green infused with reds.

As the leaf matures it becomes more green at first, then changing back to phase that looks like its malting with with reds again. It continues to do this throughout the season. Fall colors start out with yellows, then turn to bright oranges, and end with some of the brightest fiery reds of any shirasawanum.

This full moon Japanese maple is also noted on having deep purple stemming on the new growth which is quite unusual for an Acer shirawanum. It was found as a chance seedling from Acer shirasawanum 'Palmatifolium'. Mature height is unknown as this cultivar is so new, but is projected to be 12ft in 15 years. This selection is ideal for providing an ever changing color in the landscape and makes a beautiful tree in any garden.
