Japanese black pines are a favorite for bonsai. 'Ondai' is especially a bonsai expert favorite as it develops a much corkier bark than the typically Japanese black pine. This gives 'Ondai' an appearance of age, which increases the desirability in bonsai, while also adding a uniqueness in the landscape. 'Ondai' may reach 6-8ft in 10 years.
