Azalea ‘Hino Crimson' Red Blooming

Evergreen Azalea -

Kurume Hybrid

Zones 6-8

‘Hino Crimson’ is a classic red Kurume hybrid azalea. The bright red blooms on established plants in the ground fill the branches so much that you can barely see any leaves at all, making a nice fiery red shrub during blooming. ‘Hino Crimson’ has also proven itself to be a very cold tolerant evergreen azalea. This combination has made ‘Hino Crimson’ one of the most popular Kurume azaleas on the market. The term Kurume is used to classify selections of Azaleas that were bred and developed in the city of Kurume in Japan. Kurume azaleas typically have compact habits and smaller blooms. ‘Hino Crimson’ fits this category well being a slow grower with a dense habit. ‘Hino Crimson’ may reach 2-3 ft in height by 4-5 ft in width in 10 years. Due to this dense habit and smaller bloom, ‘Hino Crimson’ is especially popular for bonsai. 'Hino Crimson’ is great for smaller spaces or simply adding some color to your landscape and garden.

All azaleas are 1 gallon containers and are not currently bonsai.
