Southern Indica Evergreen Azalea With Cherry Rose Blooms

'Red Lustre’ is quite a special plant as it is one of the few variegated leaf forms of southern Indica azaleas. The lightly white margined evergreen leaves are beautiful on their own. When the cherry red blooms begin mid-spring, they add to the garden party. The color contrast is nice. ‘Red Lustre’, sometimes spelled as ‘Red Luster’ may reach 7-8 ft in height by 5-6 ft width in 10 years. ‘Red Lustre’ will have all your neighbors lusting after your colorful garden.

Red lustre azalea

I just happened to see that you had the red lustre Isaiah, I am from Elon, North Carolina and I own the nursery forum 20 years. I developed the Red that lustre and had a patent on it for 20 years I can't remember but I think I got the patent late '60s early '70s. It was good for 20 years. I know this is a good plant and glad to see it. Where are you located at and how did you find this azalea my email address [****] I sold the nursery in 1983 and started building houses I am a building contractor oak Island, North Carolina
