'Golden Fern' is a dwarf hinoki cypress with a tight compact habit that was found as a dwarf mutation on the cultivar 'Fernspray'. The fern-like foliage in the new growth is quite attractive being a bright chartreuse to cream-yellow depending on light conditions. 'Golden Fern' may reach 2-3 ft in height by 4-5 ft in width in 10 years. If a large vigorous sport happens on your 'Golden Fern', be sure to prune it out as you are seeing growth of 'Fernspray', not 'Golden Fern'.
