'Little Prospect' is perhaps one of the most striking witch hazels, not just sought after for because of the blooms, but because of the foliage. 'Little Prospect' has thick yellow margins of variegation on a dark green leaf. The variegation provides great contrast on the leaves. In the fall, yellow blooms cover the branches. Found by our friend, Robert Wilkinson, as a chance sport, this witch hazel appears fairly hardy, extremely stable, and exceptionally heat tolerant. 'Little Prospect' has an overall pyramidal form with dense branching. We expect 'Little Prospect' to reach 6-8 ft in height and width in 10 years.

Excited to see my first Witch Hazel leaf out the spring next to my red Inaba Shidare Weeper. Should be an awesome contrast of yellow/green and red colors and a nice change of pace for the garden. Plant size and health look great!
