Hydrangea anomala ssp. petiolaris

 'Kuga Variegated'

White Flowering Variegated Climbing Hydrangea

Zones 4-8

 Part Sun or Shade

Hydrangea 'Kuga Variegated' is a climbing hydrangea with a yellow-cream variegation. This white flowering hydrangea typically blooms around June-July. 'Kuga Variegated'. For it's unique climbing habit, give 'Kuga Variegated' something to climb on. Older trees, lattices, and wooden fences make great climbing structures. Once established, one plant may grow to 20-30 ft in 10 years. Can be trained into a small shrub very easily. If 'Kuga Variegated' is left unsupported, this plant will make beautiful spreading ground cover.

Even more beautiful than the photos.

I ordered this plant and had to wait as it was still emerging from dormancy when I placed the order.

It is obvious Mr Maple employs professional horticulturalists with experience in delivering positive customer service. I am the Greenhouse Lead for a Commercial Retail Nursery and Gift Shop, and know what it is like to order a plant only to have a completely dormant plant arrive that no one knows is going to emerge healthy or not. The fact Mr Maple waited until it started pushing healthy buds along the entire 30" stems is a testament to their experience and as a first time buyer and living out of state, I was thrilled to be able to trust them to provide only healthy specimens. I wasn't expecting it to be so big either.

A couple weeks later, the leaves had started to fully develop and the color of the variegation is fantastic. I got one for my boss as well as she has been looking for a climbing hydrangea for an arbor at her house. She was so hapoy with it and cannot wait for it to cover the bench so she can enjoy it with coffee and a book.
