Rhododendron arborescens is commonly known as the Sweet Azalea because of the lovely sweet fragrance from the blooms. It is native for much of the Eastern United States, from Alabama to New York. The clusters of white blooms with deep red stamens, shows off well against the green foliage during late spring through early summer. Rhododendron arborescens may reach 6 ft in height and width in 10 years.
