'Oculus Draconis' makes a beautiful variegated specimen of a Japanese red pine. Originally spotted in Japan by Heinrich Mayr in the late 1800's, this tree is still unique and different. For us, 'Oculus Draconis' is quite strikingly variegated. Make sure to keep 'Oculus Draconis' away from dry winds. Protected locations help keep this tree from burning, especially in the mid-west. 'Oculus Draconis' may reach 10-12 ft in 10 years.
