Stewartia pseudocamellia ‘Catawampus’ is a distinctive Japanese Stewartia selection known for its upright central leader and slightly irregular, meandering side branching that gives it a whimsical character. It provides exceptional four-season interest, featuring elegant white camellia-like flowers with golden centers in early to mid-summer, vibrant red-orange fall color, and striking exfoliating bark for winter appeal. Slow growing, it typically reaches about 12–15 ft tall and 6–8 ft wide in 10 years, eventually maturing larger over time.
