Taxus baccata ‘Amersfoort’ is a unique dwarf, upright evergreen conifer with an irregular growth habit and an unusual, almost non–yew-like appearance. Its short, rounded, dark green needles give it a distinctive texture, while older specimens reveal attractive, warm orange-brown bark for added year-round interest. Originally discovered in Holland, this rare selection thrives in sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. Slow-growing, it typically reaches about 4 ft. tall and 2 ft. wide in 10 years, making it an excellent choice for small gardens, rockeries, or as a collector’s specimen.
