The Tsuga canadensis ‘Kingsville #1’ is a slow-growing, compact conifer with a dense, irregular, spherical form, making it ideal for small gardens, rock gardens, or containers. Discovered by Henry Hohman of Kingsville Nurseries, this hardy cultivar thrives in moist, well-drained soil with sun to partial shade and benefits from protection from wind and drought due to its shallow roots. In ten years, it typically reaches 2–3 ft tall and wide, maintaining its tight, rounded shape and fine evergreen texture.
