Acer palmatum 'Pink Filigree' | Cultivar Spotlight
Acer palmatum 'Pink Filigree'
'Pink Filigree' is a sought-after cultivar from Gilardelli Nursery in Italy. Its spring foliage has a distinctive pink-orange hue, which matures to a deep red color with a yellow-green interior. During the summer, the new growth is again a bright orange-red, and in autumn it takes on a vibrant fiery orange-red.
This cultivar is believed to be a hybrid of 'Ornatum' and 'Stella Rossa'. It has the large leaves of 'Stella Rossa' and a weeping habit similar to 'Ornatum', reaching up to 4-5 feet in height and 5-6 feet in width over the course of 10 years. This cultivar enjoys to be grown in Zones 5 - 9.
