Acer palmatum 'Raigo ji'
If you want to add striking colors to your garden, 'Raigo ji,' a Japanese cultivar, is an excellent choice. This plant features deep maroon foliage in spring and matures into red-green leaves in the summer. Its fall foliage is a stunning scarlet red. 'Raigo ji' can grow up to 10-12 ft in height and width within 15 years. Its overall habit is upright, but its outward branching is semi-pendulous, adding to its charm. This selection from Japan is a beautiful addition to any garden and thrives in Zones 5 through 9.
