'Novum’ is a great upright Japanese maple with a nice brick red to maroon red spring color . As the leaves mature more in the spring, they get a bit lighter red to orange-red. In the fall, ‘Novum’ turns to a bright crimson red. Give ‘Novum’ morning or afternoon sun for this maple to shine and glow to its fullest effect. ‘Novum’ has a vigorous upright habit reaching 12-14 ft in height in 10 years.
